Moving home!

 Hello dear reader

I have lots of changes happening right now, and one of them is that I have a new domain and will no longer be posting on this blog platform.

Although EsElleK has been around for a long time, I'm letting it go in respect of future postings and general 'stuff', it is still part of me so you can no doubt find me using the #esellekpapercraft or just EsElleK as I'll keep the hashtag.  I don't want you to get lost out there on the www.

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you will have seen my new place on the www.  If not, the place to find me is now:

www.sarahscards.uk

I'm also using it to sell some of my excess 'stuff' and later, my handmade cards/projects.

I hope you take some time out to visit my new website, if you find a glitch, do please let me know.  I've done it myself and think I have caught most wayward links.

Take care, stay safe and as always, thank you for your support when you shop with me.  (PS there's a new host code).

Get Creative Cardmaking | Well Suited

Hi there

Here is a lovely card for you, I love the design of the card and even better, there is no fussy cutting or folding when you use the dies!

Here are the measurements and directions for you to get creative.

Measurements

Very Vanilla: 4 ¼ x 11 folded in half for card base, 3 x 5, 3 x 5 (for die cutting)
Simply Elegant (dotted gray pattern): 3 x 5, plus scrap for die cutting collar
Simply Elegant (paisley pattern): 2 x 4 or scrap (for die cutting)

Instructions :

  1. Cut a “V” into one side of the card base with matching die, then add a strip of tear and tape to the inside right and left edges of the card. Press closed (card will be sealed on these sides and at the fold, with the only opening at the 4 ¼ inch side.)
  2. Stamp the Birthday sentiment on one of the Very Vanilla pieces, and adhere to the dotted gray pattern paper (same size)
  3. Slip this piece into the opening in the card base with the pattern side showing through the “V”
  4. Cut a collar from the scrap of dotted pattern paper and adhere to the top of the matching paper.
  5. Cut a tie, knot, and collar (for pocket scarf) from the paisley pattern paper.
  6. Cut lapels, a pocket and buttons from the other Very Vanilla piece.
  7. Adhere each of these die cut pieces to the card to create your suit, being sure to add the scarf to the back of the pocket before adhering the pocket.

Sale-a-bration number 2 and the new mini catalogue

Hello dear reader,

Well, here we are in August!  The preparation is still in full swing for Genny to head out to the USA - next week.  It seems only yesterday she got the confirmation that she had been selected to go and here we are on countdown.  Not only that, it is also the countdown coming to an end for the second Sale-a-bration PLUS the brand new mini catalogue.  They are lush and you can shop from the new mini catalogue and earn some Sale-a-bration rewards from 3 August.

If you have shopped with me before, you will know that this is the first time that we have had two Sale-a-brations.  We usually have just the one at the beginning of the year, so this is all new to you and me.

If you are new to Sale-a-bration, what happens is that when you spend £45, you get to choose a FREE product from the Sale-a-bration brochure.  You can shop in multiples of £45 and choose an item each time, or for £90 there are level 2 products.  It has to be a round figure, so if you have £44.99 you just need 1p more and you qualify for a free product).

How to shop and get a FREE stamp set

If you are a shopper, or maybe get a group of crafting friends together to place a larger order, when your order reaches £275+ you will get a FREE stamp set on top of your Stampin' Rewards (a product order of £275 gives you 12% of your order value to shop some more, £400 = 14%, £525 or more 16%).

If you are a regular shopper, why not join Stampin' Up! as there is a fantastic joining offer for you. You simply choose £130 of products and pay £99 for them.  But, as it's Sale-a-bration, you can also choose a FREE bundle from the mini catalogue (click here to see what bundle you can get for free).

{for some FAQs on how being a demo works, click here}

Any questions, just drop me a line.  I'm off now to see if I can get a suitcase down without damaging any body parts or squashing a feline or house bunny.

Get Creative Cardmaking : Tasteful Touches

Hi there, thanks for stopping by.  It's been a lovely few weeks, hot sun but now I am glad of some rain as the garden plants sure need it.  It's getting close to Genny heading off for her year abroad - there has been a lot to do and I think (haha) that we have finally got on top of what needs to be done, chasing funding, thanking Lincoln uni for their help as well as it's been a bit tricky in some cases as she starts in August where UK universities are September/October! Anyway, onwards....

It's time to get the supplies out and get creative.  Here is a lovely card for you with the instructions on how to create it below.  I hope you like it.

Measurements:

  • Cinnamon Cider cardstock: 8 1/2” x 5 ½”
  • Basic White cardstock x 2 : 4” x 2 ½”  /  3 ½” x 2 ½”
  • 2 pieces of DSP trimmed to: ½” x 5 ½”

Instructions:

  1. Fold the Cinnamon Cider 8 ½” x 5 ½” card stock in half and crease to create your card base.
  2. Using Versamark ink, stamp the Forever Fern leaf image randomly over your card front.
  3. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere 3 DSP strips across the card front.
  4. Ink phrase and stamp onto Whisper White. Die-cut using Tasteful Labels die.
  5. Ink leaf image from Forever Fern stamp set, first using Bumblebee ink and then brushing Cinnamon Cider ink lightly on top of some sections of the stamp.
  6. Die-cut inked leaf image using Forever Flourishing die.
  7. Adhere phrase and die-cut leaf to card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  8. Create Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon bow and attach to card front using Mini Glue Dot.
  9. Add three Elegant Faceted Gems to complete card.

Days to Remember

If you love to make handmade gifts, this is a great set to create a calendar to give as a present.  Also, you can use it yourself, you don't have to gift them all.

If you like to plan and keep a note of special dates, this is a handy little desk calendar as well.  See how it's made with the Stampin' Up! tutorial video.  I just love the Days to Remember Stamp Set which you can find here in the all-occasions stamps aisle.  (You might want to hang on until August 3 - another post will be coming).
