Moving home!

 Hello dear reader

I have lots of changes happening right now, and one of them is that I have a new domain and will no longer be posting on this blog platform.

Although EsElleK has been around for a long time, I'm letting it go in respect of future postings and general 'stuff', it is still part of me so you can no doubt find me using the #esellekpapercraft or just EsElleK as I'll keep the hashtag.  I don't want you to get lost out there on the www.

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you will have seen my new place on the www.  If not, the place to find me is now:

www.sarahscards.uk

I'm also using it to sell some of my excess 'stuff' and later, my handmade cards/projects.

I hope you take some time out to visit my new website, if you find a glitch, do please let me know.  I've done it myself and think I have caught most wayward links.

Take care, stay safe and as always, thank you for your support when you shop with me.  (PS there's a new host code).

Get Creative Cardmaking | Well Suited

Hi there

Here is a lovely card for you, I love the design of the card and even better, there is no fussy cutting or folding when you use the dies!

Here are the measurements and directions for you to get creative.

Measurements

Very Vanilla: 4 ¼ x 11 folded in half for card base, 3 x 5, 3 x 5 (for die cutting)
Simply Elegant (dotted gray pattern): 3 x 5, plus scrap for die cutting collar
Simply Elegant (paisley pattern): 2 x 4 or scrap (for die cutting)

Instructions :

  1. Cut a “V” into one side of the card base with matching die, then add a strip of tear and tape to the inside right and left edges of the card. Press closed (card will be sealed on these sides and at the fold, with the only opening at the 4 ¼ inch side.)
  2. Stamp the Birthday sentiment on one of the Very Vanilla pieces, and adhere to the dotted gray pattern paper (same size)
  3. Slip this piece into the opening in the card base with the pattern side showing through the “V”
  4. Cut a collar from the scrap of dotted pattern paper and adhere to the top of the matching paper.
  5. Cut a tie, knot, and collar (for pocket scarf) from the paisley pattern paper.
  6. Cut lapels, a pocket and buttons from the other Very Vanilla piece.
  7. Adhere each of these die cut pieces to the card to create your suit, being sure to add the scarf to the back of the pocket before adhering the pocket.

Sale-a-bration number 2 and the new mini catalogue

Hello dear reader,

Well, here we are in August!  The preparation is still in full swing for Genny to head out to the USA - next week.  It seems only yesterday she got the confirmation that she had been selected to go and here we are on countdown.  Not only that, it is also the countdown coming to an end for the second Sale-a-bration PLUS the brand new mini catalogue.  They are lush and you can shop from the new mini catalogue and earn some Sale-a-bration rewards from 3 August.

If you have shopped with me before, you will know that this is the first time that we have had two Sale-a-brations.  We usually have just the one at the beginning of the year, so this is all new to you and me.

If you are new to Sale-a-bration, what happens is that when you spend £45, you get to choose a FREE product from the Sale-a-bration brochure.  You can shop in multiples of £45 and choose an item each time, or for £90 there are level 2 products.  It has to be a round figure, so if you have £44.99 you just need 1p more and you qualify for a free product).

How to shop and get a FREE stamp set

If you are a shopper, or maybe get a group of crafting friends together to place a larger order, when your order reaches £275+ you will get a FREE stamp set on top of your Stampin' Rewards (a product order of £275 gives you 12% of your order value to shop some more, £400 = 14%, £525 or more 16%).

If you are a regular shopper, why not join Stampin' Up! as there is a fantastic joining offer for you. You simply choose £130 of products and pay £99 for them.  But, as it's Sale-a-bration, you can also choose a FREE bundle from the mini catalogue (click here to see what bundle you can get for free).

{for some FAQs on how being a demo works, click here}

Any questions, just drop me a line.  I'm off now to see if I can get a suitcase down without damaging any body parts or squashing a feline or house bunny.

Get Creative Cardmaking : Tasteful Touches

Hi there, thanks for stopping by.  It's been a lovely few weeks, hot sun but now I am glad of some rain as the garden plants sure need it.  It's getting close to Genny heading off for her year abroad - there has been a lot to do and I think (haha) that we have finally got on top of what needs to be done, chasing funding, thanking Lincoln uni for their help as well as it's been a bit tricky in some cases as she starts in August where UK universities are September/October! Anyway, onwards....

It's time to get the supplies out and get creative.  Here is a lovely card for you with the instructions on how to create it below.  I hope you like it.

Measurements:

  • Cinnamon Cider cardstock: 8 1/2” x 5 ½”
  • Basic White cardstock x 2 : 4” x 2 ½”  /  3 ½” x 2 ½”
  • 2 pieces of DSP trimmed to: ½” x 5 ½”

Instructions:

  1. Fold the Cinnamon Cider 8 ½” x 5 ½” card stock in half and crease to create your card base.
  2. Using Versamark ink, stamp the Forever Fern leaf image randomly over your card front.
  3. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere 3 DSP strips across the card front.
  4. Ink phrase and stamp onto Whisper White. Die-cut using Tasteful Labels die.
  5. Ink leaf image from Forever Fern stamp set, first using Bumblebee ink and then brushing Cinnamon Cider ink lightly on top of some sections of the stamp.
  6. Die-cut inked leaf image using Forever Flourishing die.
  7. Adhere phrase and die-cut leaf to card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  8. Create Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon bow and attach to card front using Mini Glue Dot.
  9. Add three Elegant Faceted Gems to complete card.
For your convenience, the products used to create the card can be found by clicking <here>.

Days to Remember

If you love to make handmade gifts, this is a great set to create a calendar to give as a present.  Also, you can use it yourself, you don't have to gift them all.

If you like to plan and keep a note of special dates, this is a handy little desk calendar as well.  See how it's made with the Stampin' Up! tutorial video.  I just love the Days to Remember Stamp Set which you can find here in the all-occasions stamps aisle.  (You might want to hang on until August 3 - another post will be coming).

Stock up and save 15% on select Designer Series Paper!

Hi there

I hope you are well and wondering if the summer is coming back again!  The sun seems to have become rather shy and is hiding behind the clouds.

July 1, and it’s the middle of the year and I am itching to revamp my paper collection without breaking the bank. Fortunately, the Designer Series Paper Sale this July will help me (and you!) do just that.  During this promotion (1 July–2 August), you can enjoy a 15% discount on select papers from the Annual Catalogue! It’s the perfect opportunity to stock up and save on gorgeous Designer Series Paper.

In my view, as a scrapbooker as much as a cardmaker, there isn't such a thing as having too much pretty paper in your paper stocks.

Lots of updates - there is so much happening!

There is so much happening, and going to happen, that I was going to break this down into individual posts, but thought that was too time consuming as I want to get the info to you as quickly as I can, so here goes...
The Last Chance Product Sale is ending soon.  It comes to an end on Monday 3 May, so just a few more days to go, but, items are selling out so if you are hanging on for a shopping spree over holiday weekend, I'd go and get your shopping basket filled and check out sooner rather than later.  I do hate disappointment and I'm afraid if a product goes out of stock, I can't help you as I don't hold stock.

I know some of my customers have seen this already, if you haven't visited my online shop for a while, we have a one-off Paper Pumpkin special for Europe.  The Bouquet of Hope Paper Pumpkin is a beautiful Paper Pumpkin kit and it is (currently) available in our various language choices.  Check it out, along with the cards you can create by clicking here.

The new catalogue is released on 4 May and from then until 14 June, you can get some additional Stampin Rewards with a qualifying order.  Who doesn't like some extra free product with an order?!

Talking about your wishlist, I'll be sharing the new catalogue PDF shortly and you may find (like me!) that you end up with a very long list.  If your list comes to over £99, why not take advantage of Stampin' Up! and join me and my fellow Platina Stampers and join the family.  You don't have to sell, you can simply be your best customer for as long as you maintain the demo status.

From 4 to 31 May, you can join for £99 BUT choose £154 of products, and your delivery will ship for FREE!  If you are in France, Germany, Austria or The Netherlands, you can join as well for €129 and choose €207 of products.

If getting your Stampin' Up! products for a discount is of interest to you, my page with information on how to join is here, and it also includes my link to some FAQs on being a demo and the perks you can get, like me.

Watch our for a separate post on my In-Colour Club which starts next month.  I was going to add it to here but I think this update will keep you busy for a while.

Public Service Announcement

Sorry it has been a while since a post.  A few things...

I've not been very well, physically (symptoms of being a female) and mentally I have often been falling down a rabbit hole.

But, things are improving.  I'm exercising regularly with Brian (we are doing Pamela Reif, it's just 30-45 minutes each day, with a rest day) but if you are like me and exercise has been a swear word for many years, it sure is helping feeling better, as in #exerciseformentalhealth and we (we have both not been doing too well) have been doing meditation (Headspace) on Netflix, although there are a couple of meditations that I have to skip as I just can't cope with them.

Pamela Reif today - lots of booty and the stretches, well getting there with some of them!

My Masters degree = I also had an essay to do which caused me some grief as well, I had an extension and managed to get more than I thought I would, especially seeing I didn't do the word count.  But, now onto something I enjoy more, some Coriolanus (Shakespeare / Brecht), I love intertextuality.  Although it's March and the essay is due 15 April, I hope my head is more clear to get this one done on time with no extension.

What else, well I broke my Facebook page but that is now fixed, that was also causing some stress, what with having social media pointing to a page that you couldn't publish on, it was, well, a PITA (Pain In The A*&£).

Now for some crafting updates - I hope you made it this far!

Retiring List

We will have the retiring list for the annual catalogue on 24 March at 7pm.  I only know that the 2019-2021 retiring in-colors will be retiring.  My advice to you, as I don't like sad customers, get / top up your favourite colours now, that includes your re-inkers, I just don't hold stock of retiring colours.  Click here or the image below to go to the retiring in-colours.

New Suite

We have an early release from the upcoming new catalogue and it is gorgeous.  There is a paper pack, a beautiful stamp, dies and also some papers with a wood grain effect.  It is called Butterfly Bouquet.

Do take a look at it, I love it and just waiting for mine to arrive.

That's all for now, I am off to read a book and chill for a while.

Happy crafting & thank you for your support

Many Messages

Have you seen this bundle?  Many message is a super set to have in your supplies.  If you are stuck for sentiments, this stamp set has loads and to add to the greatness of the set, there is a die which cuts out all the sentiments!

One of my fellow demonstrators also had a great idea. Stamp using your stamparatus and you can use different coloured inks, or use your Stampin' Write Markers to colour some stamps, and also, this is great for bulk stamping, use different colours inks on different sheets, so you get a sheet of sentiments in say, black, red... etc

When you have stamped, line up your die and use a bit of washi tape to stick the die down.  And there you have it, a heap of sentiments to put into your sentiment pot!

BONUS!!!  As it's Sale-a-bration, purchase the bundle and you get to choose a freebie from the Sale-a-bration (level 1) offerings!

Happy crafting & thank you for your support

Sarah x

Remember to use the online customer code (over on the right) when ordering under £150. When your order is £150+ you will have Stampin' Rewards based on the value of your order (before delivery) giving you extra £/€ to spend along with access to exclusive Stampin' Reward products.
