2017-2018 Annual Catalogue June Blog Hop

Wow, have you seen the new annual catalogue?  It is full of great products and my one long list turned into three lists of various stages of “need it”!  To share the catalogue and give you some ideas, I have joined in the team blog hop – see the links at the bottom of the post and have some fun hopping along with us.  As demonstrators, we love to share ideas and hopefully get your mojo fired up. {If you are mid hop, I hope you enjoyed seeing what Rebecca shared with you and admired her fantastic projects}.

From list one, the ‘had to have it now’, I am showcasing you the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and Happy Birthday framelits.  Check the product list at the bottom of this post to see what I have used.

For this card, I have used some of the new daisy paper and punched a daisy out from the paper I used for my other card (below).  The balloons are stamped using the tranquil tide ink and some metallic thread ‘ties’ them up.  I had to get the glimmer paper out and die cut the happy birthday!  Some of the new in-colour ribbon adds a spurt of colour.

For this next card, I have stamped the sentiment using one of the stamps from the set.  I love the paper with the little cameras and for the happy birthday, this is using our gold paper.  The sentiment is printed on a piece of white cardstock from my scrap box.  One of those crafting things of not throwing away scraps.  The paper is from one sheet, it’s great that these are double sided.

This is the die in a close up!

Follow the hop and check out my team mates and see their creations.  Be inspired 🙂  If you are starting with me, next up are Sandra’s great creations, have fun 🙂

Eastern Promise meets glitter

Hello dear reader, as you may have guessed, being a demonstrator means you get to have some demo perks. I have therefore been having a great time with the early release of the Eastern Promise – coming soon to you in two great bundles.  Once the new catalogue comes out on 1 June, the bundles will disappear.  So, if you like great value, visit my store on 1 May!

I’ve made two cards using some of the new in-colours.  The card base is using the current dapper denim, the purple is the new fresh fig and the other two new colours lemon lime twist and powder pink.

We have some wonderful new framelits, I have used some of them with the stitched circles.  And I am not sure if you can see it, but there is some silver glimmer paper as well.  The sentiment is from the fairy celebration stamp set (not retiring!).  I hope you like them.

Card making – pop up panel card

I’ve seen the pop up cards popping up over recent months and having watched some videos, I like step by step with pictures! These are great and (hopefully) a nice surprise for the recipient when they open their card.

What you need:

Step 1. Inside mechanism – cardstock measuring 20m x 9cm – Scored in half lengthways

Measure at 5.5 and 14.5cm on each of the long edges and then score the 5.5 cm to the 14.5cm mark – creating an ‘x”.  Give the score lines a crease using your bone folder.

Take the right edged over along the score line and do the same with the left.

You should then be able to easily bring your folds together, and end up with this

Step 2, you need a piece of cardstock measuring 9 x 26cm

Using a pencil, place 3 pencil marks at 6.5, 13.5 and 19.5cm along each long edge and then score and crease (so you end up with a W shape).

Step 3, cardstock = 10 x 30cm (this is your card front and back), scored in the middle (fold in half!) and place a pencil mark in the fold at 5cm

Decorate your step 2 cardstock.Decorate your step 3 cardstock on the inside and then the fold (step 1) goes in.

Put some really sticky glue/red tape on the triangle of one side first, and line up the point with your pencil mark and press down.  Put glue on the triangle left and stick this down (simply fold the card) and hold down for a bit.

You should end up with  this:

Open up your card and mark the centre at 5cm as shown.

Line up the centre  of the 4-fold card to the centre mark you have just made and fold over each of the edges, and then glue the upper half of the right hand side ABOVE the score line and on the left glue on the BOTTOM of the score line.

Cross your fingers, fold your card and it should fold in nicely.  Then all you need to do now is finish decorating.

All being well, if the instructions work for you as they do in my head, you will have a super little popping card!  The one I made along side this tutorial is now with the recipient so here is a picture of the finished card front.

Playtime, Stampin’ Up! Eastern Promise – preorder your 2017-2018 catalogue

I delved into the box of delights and had a hard time with some 12×12 paper!  The Eastern Promise has speciality DSP and, if you are a scrapbooker also, you will understand the trouble I had cutting up a sheet!  It was a dilemma over which colours to play with and and in the end I went for the Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig.  I’ll grab the other colours once we get the demo pre-order.

I got out the gold foiled paper which is carrying over into the new catalogue and cut up one sheet of the 12×12, just a little bit!  The product suite has some coordinating thinlits and I used these along with a couple of stamps from the stamp set.  The gold foiled paper goes great with the colours and fits nicely with the paper.

We have two bundles available for you which are released on 1 May.  What with this super offer and new in-colours, it is stamping heaven!

What do you think, which is your favourite?

If you are in the UK and don’t have a demonstrator, pre-order your new catalogue today.  Don’t forget to register on my website if you haven’t already and, if you are already a customer, login to make sure your details are up to date.

Stampin’ Up! 2017 retiring lists

Well, the time has come and as usual this is one of those bittersweet times in the Stampin’ Up! year.  We are excited that we have seen the new catalogue and can’t wait for you all to see it in June, but it is sad to say farewell to some of the old favourites and loved products.

It is usual that we often say goodbye to the wonderful bundles that Stampin’ Up! gives us, and, although the bundles will go along with their 15% discount, some of the other elements of the bundle may stay, and yet, some may head off and not make it over to the 2017-2018 catalogue.

Seasoned shoppers will know that the retired lists can change pretty quickly with products going out of stock quickly.  Keep an eye on my online shop, this is the best place to see what is going on.  I would urge you to keep your eyes on my online shop as this is a crazy time with a mad dash to grab the great bargains.  Don’t hang around too long, basically, if you see it and want it, grab it as when they are gone, that’s it – and don’t forget to use the hostess code.

Want to join the fun?  In a few days demonstrators will get to see the new 2017-2018 annual catalogue and in May, we will be able to preorder items from the new catalogue.  Isn’t this great, as you could if you choose order some Eastern Promise!  For £99 you choose £130 of products, get to pre-order, see the new catalogue and join a fab team.  You also get 20% off your purchases (or make 20% on any sales!).  Tempted, click here and join us.

Farewell Stampin’ Up! in-colours

A word of advice! This lovely lot are retiring in a few months, if you have the ink pads, get the re-inkers now! Or, if you love the colours and need them, get the pads + the re-inkers!

We will be saying farewell to cucumber crush, delightful dijon, mint macaron, tip top taupe and watermelon wonder when the annual catalogue ends on 31 May 2017.  But, guess what, 1 June we get some new colours 🙂  In the meantime, here is what will be heading out of the door waving goodbye.
