Stampin Up share what you love

Creative card making day

Get out those shoe boxes!  Not quite but I have joined in a shoe box swap.  A group of crafty friends get together and we each create a card.  We then put all the contents to make it into a box (with enough of the supplies for each person – think card kits) and then pass the boxes around so we all get to make a card that one of us has designed.  It’s a fun event, and you come away with not only a card, but lots of ideas.

This is the card I have made for my swap.  I have mixed some of the ‘old’ being the happy birthday gorgeous stamps which are carrying over into the new catalogue, along with the brand new papers from the share what you love pre-release on 1 May and other new products, (check the leaf, mint macaron is coming back!) along with the stamp set and ink pads.

I have simply cut a wide strip of the paper to and popped half of a doily underneath this.  Punched a starburst and stamped with the soft suede ink.  I also stamped the make a wish with pear pizzazz.  Made a little banner (which is the reverse of the larger strip) and popped a leaf behind the circle using the leaf punch.

You can’t see here very well, but the main strip has a pearlescent effect. As it’s such a lovely effect, I took a snapshot of a piece! Isn’t that divine (and it does come in a 12×12 sheet!)
