52 weeks of creativity – week 2

This week is a colour prompt, don’t worry if you don’t have the exact colours, find a similar one and also you don’t need to use all four.  They are simply here for you to get some mojo.

I thought I’d made a squash card and delved into my bookmarks to find the measurements and a reminder on how to make one!

I’ve used some fresh fig cardstock for the card base and for the ‘squash’ insert.  For the insert, you need a piece of cardstock measuring 6″ x 6″ and then score this at 3″ on both sides and then score on one diagonal.  You then fold over the diagonal score, open the cardstock back up.  Fold the paper in half and then bring the triangle score lines into the centre, now you have your squash-pop.

Then glue your squash-pop into your card.  I’ve used my scrap piece of cardstock to create my card and so have had to trim the edge off slightly to avoid an overhang and decorated the inside. (A little note, it’s easier to decorate before you stick it!)

And this is the final creation.
